Well I guess people are taking Eve more seriously than other games because Eve unlike WoW provides consequences.
However, self destructing in not nice - mkay?

Well, self destructing is legitimate. However, please refrain from calling it a fight then. After self destructing there remains no evidence of a fight like a shiny killboard entry. It's comparable to those corps who do not post the losses on their killboards to look better.
I would not smack you in local, but don't expect me or anybody else to give a 'gf' back to you...

When you get caught, the ones catching you must have done something right and/or you must have done something wrong. Why not just stick to it, get blown up and STFU..?
I would not call it a fair fight by any means, and I would not expect the OP to give a 'gf' comment in local. But blowing your ship up yourself may lead to certain negative reactions. The kb entry would show that he got abused, but at least it would exist...
That being said, I lost ships to blobs myself. But I never ever even considered self destructing. I even upload my losses personally to my kb before it gets updated automatically just to see how negative the impact was.
My kill/loss ratio would be quite awesome if I decided to happily commit suicide in each confrontation just because I think that 'It's not fair! '.
My point was just that it's useless to whine about smacktalk when you upset someone by taking away his kill. The same applies to victim's smacktalk after getting blobbed. Just swallow it and go on...
